We congratulate Ajit for being awarded the 2023 Agilent Early Career Professor Award. Each year Agilent selects one professor who they believe demonstrates outstanding potential for future research, significant original research contributions enabling technologies of importance to Agilent and the world, and aligns with the focus topic. We wish a huge congratulations to Neira, an undergraduate researcher in the lab who just graduated from UCLA. Neira graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology and a minor in Mathematical Biology. She will be greatly missed, but we are excited to see all she accomplishes in this next chapter!

Congratulations to Anthony on successfully defending his thesis last Friday, October 28th! His thesis was titled “Determining the role of CoA in alternative macrophage activation.” Anthony will continue to work in the lab as a Postdoctoral Researcher as he prepares for his next adventure of Med School.

Anthony, Nataly and Aracely are all authors of “A Single LC-MS/MS Analysis to Quantify CoA Biosynthetic Intermediates and Short-Chain Acyl CoAs” published in Metabolites. Krista and Mary (UCLA Pharmacology rotation student) authored “Measuring CPT-1-mediated respiration in permeabilized cells and isolated mitochondria” published in STAR Protocols.
